Different but same

I get asked all the time, how does it feel being back?

Same but different

Whats same?

Family, very lucky to have a great family and they are a big part of my life

Friends, people I just really like being around and who make me feel good about being me

Chat, the chat/banter/convo is the same, expert opinions from unqualified minds but all done with the best intentions of being part of the group and having a nice conversation

The City, can cities ever really change, not in 7-8 years, I mean their are new roads, buildings and even areas. But it is the same.

Whats Different?

Family, people age, the parents I left behind and the parents I have are now are different. Time comes for us all.

Friends, the ride or die era of friendship is over, people have families, mortgages and careers. The holy trinity. Your friendship is not going to come before the holy trinity. The last two need a rethink.

Chat, so much harder to listen to nowdays, like a song that has the same beat as every other song but with different lyrics (Bastille I am looking at you). Thirty somethings talking about the best looking mulch, fuck mulch.

The City, it meant so much to me and now means nothing, the glitter is gone and I see it for what it is. A trap.

Have I changed? Course not.
